This policy is part of the Tally Terms of Service. It applies to everything you do in Tally, including through the apps, the API and the Claude connector.
Do#
- Use Tally for your own business records, lawfully.
- Only add information about other people that you have a right to hold and that your records need.
- Keep your account, and the keys you give Tally for other services, to yourself.
Don't#
- Break the law, or use Tally to record, invoice or take payment for anything unlawful.
- Send spam. Don't use Tally's invoice, quote, reminder or other email features to send unsolicited commercial messages, or to email anyone who hasn't dealt with your business.
- Harass anyone. Don't use reminders or other messages to threaten, mislead or pressure people, or to collect debts in a way the law doesn't allow.
- Impersonate anyone. Don't send invoices or emails that pretend to come from another business or person, or that misstate who you are.
- Over-collect. Don't upload sensitive information about other people (such as health information or identity documents) beyond what an invoice or business record needs. Don't enter tax file numbers anywhere in Tally.
- Get at data that isn't yours. Don't try to access another person's account or data, or to get around the rules that keep accounts separate.
- Test or attack Tally. Don't probe, scan or test Tally's security without our written permission. If you find a security problem, please tell us at team@runningtally.co. We welcome responsible reports.
- Overload or scrape Tally. Don't get around rate limits, use automated tools to scrape the website, or put a load on the API or the Claude connector that degrades Tally for others.
- Reverse engineer Tally, except as the law allows.
- Share or resell your account, or offer Tally to others as a service, without our written agreement.
- Upload anything harmful, such as malware.
What happens if this policy is broken#
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close an account, as section 13 of the Terms of Service describes. Where it's safe and lawful to, we'll tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it first.
To report misuse of Tally, including an email you received through Tally that you didn't want, email team@runningtally.co.
